Every Sunday I publish Amor Mundi (for love of the world), a newsletter devoted to thinking with Hannah Arendt about the challenges of our time. I explore Arendtian ideas and their implications for the world today, and I invite essays from colleagues and guests whose perspectives are varied, nuanced, and sometimes in deliberate tension with one another. I believe that engaging such brave and provocative perspectives allows us to rediscover the joy of deep thinking and of caring about the world.
Subscribers also receive updates on what we’re doing at the Hannah Arendt Center—our conferences, events, workshops, and more—alongside our Quote of the Week, which features close readings and commentary from Arendt scholars around the world, and highlights from the work of our Student Fellows on campus.
Amor Mundi has appeared every week since 2010. It is now moving to Medium; the essays remain free and accessible, and the new platform makes it easier for readers to highlight passages, leave comments, and join the conversation.
